    Job Description

    The City of Pueblo is looking for qualified candidates to apply to be our next Pretreatment Compliance Technician. In this role, you’ll inspect facilities to determine compliance, review compliance reports and follow up with the verification of information, identify non-compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws, and collect water, sewage, sludge and industrial waste samples. Additionally, you’ll perform field tests for pH, DO, ORP, conductivity and temperature, act as field person for water quality monitoring and install and remove wastewater composite and discrete samples.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or other natural science
      • And one (1) year of experience in pretreatment, wastewater/water operations, or environmental regulations

    OR

    • An associate degree with coursework in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or other natural science
      • And three (3) years of experience in pretreatment, wastewater/water operations, or environmental regulations, may be considered in place of a bachelor’s degree.

    AND

    • One-year of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
    • A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
      • License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
      • During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license

    In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications at the time of application, within one (1) year of appointment the employee must:

    • Obtain a valid Class 1 Wastewater Collection Operator Certification from the Colorado Water and Wastewater Facility Operator's Certification Board.
