Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all phases of financial planning, budgeting, investment management, and asset liability management for the bank. Responsibilities include budgeting, financial improvement, and accounting. The CFO will make recommendations to bank management on changes to balance sheet and maximize margin.
As a member of various committees within the bank, this position is responsible to make recommendations to such items as asset/liability pricing and mix, actions to achieve plan, and the like.
This position is part of Prevail Bank’s executive management team. In that role this position will be part of the team that helps determine the bank’s long-term direction, policies and procedures, and addresses other strategic issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing the annual budget and the plan to actual comparisons. Will develop tactics to help assure the bank meets its financial targets.
Responsible to have a reporting, review and analysis process in place to understand variances to plan, and will devise steps to get the bank back on plan for those categories that are deficient.
Will complete ad-hoc analysis as requested by management. This may include branch profitability, departmental profitability, or product profitability.
Responsible for management of the bank’s accounting functions. This will include all reporting – such as board reporting, call report and the like.
Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of general ledger. Will maintain the chart of accounts and make modifications as appropriate.
Responsible to develop the asset/liability reports used by the asset/liability committee. As a member of the asset/liability committee, this position will make recommendations as to mix, pricing, gap and other asset/liability ratios and their impact on the bank.
Responsible for developing procedures for expenditure requests and adherence to those procedures.
Make recommendations for improved efficiencies and cost savings throughout the bank.
Serve as a management participant in board audit committee
Fulfill compliance requirements as directed by the bank, including those of the Bank Secrecy Act.
Participate in special projects or assignments as necessary.
Perform other duties as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Follow procedures and policies that ensure compliance with not only Bank policies and procedures, but also all applicable federal and state banking regulatory agency policies.
Comply with bank standards for attendance and hours of work.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Four-year degree in finance or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have CPA or equivalent education.
Four to six years’ experience working in finance, planning, or accounting in a bank, accounting firm, or related business.

Travel:
