    About us: Prevent Child Abuse Pickens County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the counties of Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg. Our mission is to build relationships and provide services, resources, and support that prevent all forms of child abuse and neglect in Upstate South Carolina. Grounded in evidence-based practices, services are relationship-based, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed. We’re dedicated to transforming the lives of our clientele who have experienced trauma. Many are victims of poverty, physical or emotional abuse, or domestic violence.     POSITION SUMMARY: Therapist/Counselor will work with individuals and/or families to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Deliver individual and/or family therapy to victims and non- offending family members. Perform crisis interventions with clients. Provide psycho-educational training. Advocate with community resources, legal, law enforcement, and social service agencies. Knowledge of intimate partner violence and the impact of victimization.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    · Collects information about clients through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports.

    · Provides individual and/or family counseling starting at age 3.

    · Identifies problematic behavioral, communication, and relationship patterns.

    · Collaborates with the family and/or individuals to develop plans to positively manage and respond to issues; assists clients with replacing unhealthy or dysfunctional behaviors with healthy choices.

    · Refers clients to specialists for further treatment as appropriate.

    · Evaluates clients’ physical or mental condition based on review of client information. Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge. Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.

    · Develops and maintains accurate records regarding case progress, evaluations, and any further treatment recommendations.

    · Active member of weekly treatment team meeting, providing input to client’s progress or lack of progress on treatment goals.

    · Maintains compliance with ethical codes and standards. · Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Master of Social Work, Counseling/Therapy, or related field.

    · Current state license in Social Work, Counseling/Therapy, or related field or pending licensure examination within 1 year.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    · Master of Social Work, Counseling/Therapy, or related field.

    · Current state license in Social Work, Counseling/Therapy, or related field or pending licensure examination within 1 year.

    · One year of educational or experiential background in intimate partner violence and the impact of victimization.

    · Ability to relate to families from a strength-based model.

    · Demonstrated commitment to diversity, including race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and religion and the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of people to develop and accomplish strategic work plans.

    · Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.

    · Current driver’s license, proof of insurability, and acceptable driving record.
