Job Description

PaRC Discovery Behavioral Health Greenhouse Coordinator is responsible for all operations of the greenhouse which include general maintenance oversight, the growing of plants and conducting classroom education sessions with the patients, provide activities that teach basic horticulture techniques. Greenhouse services will be provided to patients in Residential, Adolescent, Partial, and /or Intensive Outpatient treatment. The greenhouse coordinator will oversee building decorative indoor greenery, flowers and foliage, replacement.

Essential Job Functions:

• Facilitates horticulture education groups and develop program activities for patients.
• Documentation of all services provided within given timeframes.
• Facilitate all patient greenhouse therapeutic activities.
• Prepare greenhouse activities for clients such as “seed bombs, hanging plants, garden planting etc”
• Collaborates with purchasing department in purchasing equipment and materials for patient activities and maintenance of Green House, building greenery, flowers, foliage. Schedule deliveries.
• Collaborates with maintenance department to ensure all areas of the green house are maintained, water sprinkler, lighting, cooler coils, exhaust fans, heater, pond pump etc.
• Maintain tool control and oversight of all sharps.
• Maintain control of all chemicals, equipment, storage building
• Develop seasonal programming activities for patients and coordinate with treatment counselors.
• Collaborates with supervisor or other treatment professionals to maintain patient continuity of care.
• Creates positive working relationships with local venders, service agencies, land scaping company while maintaining records of all purchases and retain receipts for supplies ordered.
• Performs staff on duty responsibilities, ensuring effective operation of therapeutic treatment milieu within structured greenhouse activities and educational groups. Collaborates with departmental staff of clients’ disruptive behaviors, or potential threats to safety of others or themselves.

This is a full-time position that will work day shift with some evenings.

Qualifications

• Master Gardener preferred
• Experience in Therapeutic Horticulture preferred
• Experience running and maintaining a greenhouse and horticulture environment
