    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Lead the updates and development of Standard Station Instruction bulletins by going out to the field to review and document any changes made within the substation. Provide oversite to Operations Specialists 1 or 2’s if Level 3. Assure that the equipment, labelling, and bulletins all accurately reflect proper ways to operate the equipment within the substation. In addition, this position will lead the development and updates to standards, policies and procedures used within SC&M and Operations, along with implementation of updated programmatic changes.

    REQUIRED/CORE COMPETENCIES

    • Must possess up to 8 years of experience in a combination of; Substation operations, Standard Station Instruction development or Substation commissioning.
    • Bachelor’s degree STEM field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    • Expert understanding of electrical drawings and electrical equipment as it applies to substations operations.
    • 5 years of experience in managing project schedules, coordinating project activities and deliverables
    • Ability to communicate effectively and with impact, maintain positive working relationships, and exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with multiple parties

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead the development of standard station instructions (SSIs) for new substations or additions to existing substations.
    • Assists the commissioning, test & maintenance personnel in equipment releases for switching center jurisdiction, programming equipment outages, energizing new equipment, how in-servicing relays will be accomplished, and reviews switching procedures for the associated outages.
    • Utilize the client's nonconformance tools to support continuous improvement and corrective actions associated with specific project scope and assignments.
    • SME in the creation of operational documentation associated with substation electrical components, such as protective relays, circuit breakers, capacitor banks, CCVTs, lighting arresters, TRVs, transformers, wave traps , line tuners, reactors, station light & power, auxiliary equipment, batteries & DC systems, HMI, MEER equipment, environmental & safety hazards, notification information.
