CREATIVE WEB DEVELOPER

Primal Screen is looking for a full-time, salaried Creative Web Developer who loves to learn and wants to be part of a great team. You will join a small but mighty development team building a wide variety of games, installations, and XR experiences. Working closely with our animation and design team, you will bring stories to life through projects ranging from children's media to museum installations. You will continually learn new skills and tackle new challenges in a range of emerging technologies, based on project needs and your own professional development plan. Come grow with us.

About the position

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE US AND BE BASED IN THE US. Our studios are located in Atlanta, however, we're currently working in a COVID-safe, fully-remote modality. If you are located nearby, we will invite you to join us when we reopen our hybrid-friendly workspace. 

Salary range $80k - $90k, negotiable based on experience.

Using your skills and talents, you will work in our team-based environment to create:

• Responsive microsites and web experiences
• Web-based educational games with rich, high-quality animation
• AR and VR experiences for a variety of platforms and devices
• Location based installations, experiences, and games
• Curriculum-focused tools and activities for new educational platforms
• Internal tools, templates, and documentation to streamline development processes

The ideal candidate will have these skills and traits:

• 3+ years developing web-based games and interactive experiences in an agency setting
• Proficiency with modern HTML, CSS, and Javascript
• Experience using Git or other version control systems for collaboration
• Ability to learn and quickly pick up new platforms and tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Flexible, open and approachable demeanor (can-do attitude)
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams of artists, producers, and designers
• Resourceful and solution-forward
• Ability to work collaboratively in an atmosphere fostering dignity and respect

Primal Screen values enthusiasm and aptitude for learning new skills and technologies. WHILE NOT A REQUIREMENT, SPECIAL CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:

• PIXIJS, ThreeJS, or other canvas frameworks
• GSAP, SPINE, or other javascript animation frameworks
• React, Vue, or other front-end frameworks
• Adobe tools and programs like ILLUSTRATOR and Photoshop
• Unity or Unreal Engine
• Experience in AR/VR
