    Position Overview

    CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive medical services at a federal prison camp in Alderson, West Virginia. FPC Alderson is a minimum-security federal prison camp for female inmates in rural southeastern West Virginia, requiring healthcare providers with experience in women's health. You will manage acute and chronic conditions, conduct intake health screenings, and oversee preventive care programs with particular attention to women's healthcare needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, sick call assessments, and chronic care clinic visits
    • Manage chronic disease programs including diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, and hepatitis C per BOP guidelines
    • Provide women's health screenings including Pap smears, breast examinations, and reproductive health counseling
    • Perform intake physicals and develop individualized treatment plans
    • Order and interpret diagnostic studies
    • Prescribe medications within BOP formulary guidelines
    • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate hospital transfers
    • Maintain clinical documentation in the BOP electronic health record
    • Participate in quality improvement and infection control committees

    Required Qualifications

    • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
    • Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
    • Active, unrestricted West Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain)
    • Active DEA registration
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • Ability to pass federal background investigation

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Women's health experience
    • Correctional medicine or community health experience
    • BOP Health Services Division familiarity

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary: $210,000 - $270,000 annually
