Job Description
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist with at least five years of experience providing communications and program support to government agencies. The analyst should have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and experience in the use of social media for corporate communications. Knowledge and experience with DoD Science and Technology (S&T) policy, priorities, and programs are required; with the ability to translate this knowledge into superior communications and presentations with high visual impact using PowerPoint or other comparable presentation software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide input into strategic communications plans, with an emphasis on social media.
- Work closely with key stakeholders in government, industry, and academia to develop targeted messages.
- Create actionable objectives and timelines, and develop and track metrics.
- Develop information, graphics, and publications to facilitate technical and programmatic goals, and to communicate and articulate abstract concepts to support government S&T programs.
- Design, create, and transition web page content, graphics and communication materials, and video and animation content in support of agency tasks and programs.
- Identify and utilize the latest IT resources and capabilities to facilitate information retrieval and dissemination.
- Work with and ensure that all material developed and used in connection with the agency’s tasks and programs meets security and strategic communication guidelines and requirements.
- Assist in the planning, facilitation, and execution of agency initiatives, and liaising with other organizations within the DOD S&T community, other Federal Agencies, Academia, Industry and internationally, to include senior military and government personnel.
