    +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Summary | | | | The Commissioning Engineer shall design, commission, troubleshoot and | | maintain- IP Video Management System, Access Control Systems, Intrusion | | System and any other hardware related to those systems. The position’s | | first responsibility is to be the technical subject matter expert (both | | hardware and software) on the solutions deployed. Additional | | responsibilities include providing technical support and documentation | | while maintaining customer satisfaction. | | | | Major Roles and Responsibilities | | | | - Design, program, install and maintain locking devices and related | | hardware on all doors, including low voltage electric door hardware | | - Design, program, install and maintain video surveillance systems | | including cameras, software, and peripheral devices | | - Setup, spec and commission servers, workstations, switches, | | intercoms and other network devices | | - Troubleshoot systems from both hardware and software level | | - Remotely support Prime technicians and Prime clients | | - Provide design and engineering expertise in all systems supported by | | the engineer | | - Deliver technical presentation and demos | | - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on alarm, access, and | | video systems | | - Program alarm systems, access systems, and IP video surveillance | | systems | | - Ensure departmental daily records are maintained and accurate | | - Interact with all clients and be the face of Prime Communications | | - All other assigned duties | | | | Qualifications and Education Requirements | | | | - Associates Degree or equivalent (technical background is required) | | - Experience with enterprise level Physical Security System | | - Strong networking background is required | | - Must understand the fundamentals of electricity including relay | | logic circuits | | - Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the security | | industry | | - Must have complex problem-solving skills | | - Must be self-motivated and be able to work and be successful with | | limited supervision | | - Must be willing and have the ability to move into a management | | position | | - Experience with low voltage wiring and knowledge of the aspects of | | security equipment (cameras, mag-locks, panels, etc.) installation | | is required | | - Must have a good understanding of strike wire, data cabling, | | connectors, door contacts, hardware, and installation of cameras and | | software | | - Must have experience using test equipment | | - Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to | | regional job sites | | - Ability to read blue prints is required | | - Good judgment is required | | - Must be organized | | - Strong customer service skills are required | | | | Preferred Skills | | | | - IT Network Skills | | - Certified in at least one Enterprise level Security System | | | | Additional Notes | | | | - Probationary period of 90 days | | - Individuals with a felony or misdemeanor convictions MAY not be | | hired | | - Individuals must not have any alcohol or drug-related convictions or | | suspensions within the past three years | | - Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in | | English as well as possess good oral and written communication | | skills | | - Individual must be able to pass a drug and physical screening as | | well as a background check | | - Individual must be available to work variable hours | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+
