_ This is an on-site position located in Roslyn, NY._
General Summary:
Develop, maintain and analyze operational and statistical data to be used for business analysis across the entire department. Act as a liaison between Claims leadership and other business entities ensuring strong interconnectivity across the broader company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve in consulting capacity for the Claims department to assist leadership in the communication and interpretation of results, management of expenses, development of appropriate business cases, and the direction of tactical action plans.
Ability to build advanced models to measure claims data, prepare written narratives and/or presentations to explain outcomes and share recommendations to management and peers
Demonstrate the understanding to apply advanced mathematical concepts to solve problems and prepare reports for analysis
Partner with other business areas and take lead on special assignments and projects to assist in the further growth of the company
Utilize advanced technical capabilities to improve infrastructure, automate processes, and leverage technology to provide the Claims department with additional resources
Analyze key claims drivers and effectively communicate those results to Claims leadership and key stakeholders to guide decisioning efforts and improve optimal outcomes
Deliver timely and accurate analysis of claims reports and trends, forecasting and/or modeling, to assist Claims leadership in performing their responsibilities
Provide support towards building structured and organized project plans for the Claims department
Serve as an advisor from a Claims perspective to both internal and external clients
All other duties deemed appropriate by management
Education & Qualifications: ****
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics, Computer Science or other related fields. MBA a plus
Previous relevant experience in an analytical and operational position a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage time appropriately and prioritize multiple tasks
Must be able to effectively communicate with others to convey and suggest change, while building relationships and trust quickly
Advanced mathematical and analytical thinking ability and a robust understanding of general business applications
Showcase the ability to predict claims trends, analyze statistical research and understand implications of current markets
Demonstrate willingness to tackle challenging workstreams/projects
Express ideas clearly and provide an easy understanding of complex issues
Improve inefficiencies and create additional capacity within the current Claims department
Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote; strong acumen within other technical platforms (R, Tableau, Python) helpful
Knowledge of data warehouse systems helpful
Ability to function in a professional office environment and utilize standard office equipment
