Primrose School at Candelas located at 9179 Kendrick St., Arvada, CO 80007 is opening in Summer 2020. Primrose School at Candelas is a private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.

The Primrose School at Candelas leadership team is seeking an Assistant Director for our private preschool. This position will ensure adherence to our mission of bringing the best and most trusted in early childhood education and child care services to families we serve. We are seeking an individual who is energetic, organized, a problem solver, and possesses great communication skills. This individual needs to be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation. They will need to promote the Primrose School at Candelas in the community to build awareness, enrollment, and achieve planned profitability.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide superior customer service to all external and internal customers
Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School at Candelas and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children
Assists the Director operate and manage all aspects of the school, including business management, enrollment, education and continual learning and development, campus environment, and marketing and communications
Assists the director in adhering to employment laws and compliance issues related to those laws.
Assumes responsibility to manage operation of the school in the Director’s absence
Assists in keeping school physically well kept, attractive, and safe
Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior
Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the School, including, but not limited to, other leadership team positions, teacher, food service teacher, and bus driver.
Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions
Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Employee Handbook
Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary
Oversees and ensures consistent implementation of the Balanced Learning System for all students enrolled at a Primrose school
Actively develops and maintains positive staff relationships and parent partnerships and manages all resources effectively
Desired skills and experience:
Must meet requirements stipulated by Colorado State Licensing Agency for Large Child Care Center Assistance Director
Valid Large Child Care Center Director Certification preferred
An Associate or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or related field, and/or at least 2-3 years’ work experience in a licensed child care facility, kindergarten or early childhood program preferred
2 years’ experience in the childcare industry as an assistant director and/or as a teacher in a large childcare center (100+ children) preferably with Primrose Schools
Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility a plus
Some experience in management, business administration, and/or public relations preferred
Highly professional and dependable with excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the internet
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
