Primrose School of Cary has experienced recent growth and is seeking an experienced and skilled Director for our center.
Our management/ownership team is looking for a key team member to support a standard of excellence for our school. We are currently seeking an exceptional qualified and motivated director.
We are making restructuring efforts and investments to provide our staff and customers a high level of service, in a warm environment where people smile and have a pleasant attitude. We are polite, professional and respectful of each other. We want to work side by side with people that have these same goals. We are looking for team members that want to work with us to provide a strategic relationship where we all benefit from our excellence as a school. We are looking for a knowledgeable, professional, mature and hard-working people that desire a challenge to always become better.
Essential Skills for Management:
Business Communications
You should be able to:
Be comfortable handling difficult situations with staff and families with professionalism and in accordance to school policies and your management's directives.
Quickly be able to generate professional correspondence including: emails, newsletters, announcements, etc.
Speak on the phone, at marketing or other events, (in person or otherwise about our school in a positive and persuasive way).
Always stay current with goals regarding: FTE, enrollment, sales, and the general financial success of the school/company. Know the owner, sales and management goals and policies of the company. Manage personnel situations in accordance with school policy and owner/management’s direction
Have written communications be professional and coherent. Communicate messages clearly.
General Business Skills
You should be able to:
Read and process large amounts of information from many sources: email, internet sites, trainings, etc. Remain organized and use systems.
Recognize the cost of major categories of expense (Labor, Food, anything else the owner references, etc.) and pay attention to their proportion compared to the resulting revenue.
Solve problems independently and efficiently
Utilize Word, Excel, current web-based cloud services and solutions. You should be able to solve many technologies questions by applying effort, initiative and intuition. You should be familiar with modern business technology (PDF's, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
Leadership Skills
You need to be able to:
Demonstrate a good attitude and high energy.
Enforce school policies calmly and consistently. Have firmness with actual compassion for other people. Management must be composed and mature. We expect our management people to be thought and behavioral leaders.
Be considerate of employees while also adhering to our policies and standards of quality.
Teach by demonstration. We believe in exemplarily leadership.
Knowledge & Compliance
You should know when something is in violation of NC’s early childhood rules, sanitation, fire codes, etc. Additionally, you should become familiar with Primrose’s corporate requirements. You should be able to carry out instructions in accordance with these rules from executive management. As with any knowledge base that qualifies a director, you should have the initiative to stay current on your skills and up to date knowledge. This is an industry like many where we are responsible for keeping our own knowledge current. You should be able to adapt to situations and have good judgement in the moment. We are a team that depends on each other to help each other as needed. Teamwork should be an enjoyable part of good job at a good and fair company. People are what makes it all mean something.
