The Assistant Director is part of the Leadership Team at our school and will ensure adherence to our mission of bringing the best and most trusted in early childhood education and child care services to the families we serve. We are seeking an individual who is an energetic, organized, problem solver with great communication skills. The Education Coach must be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation.

    Responsibilities

    Provide superior customer service to all external and internal customers

    Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Cupertino and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.

    Assists the Director with the necessary management responsibilities to ensure curriculum and teacher support needs are met each day.

    Help teachers in the classroom with Primrose Balanced Learning, observations and assessment implementation.

    Oversee Parent teacher conferences and maintain positive communication between teachers and parents.

    Knowledge of and adheres to employment laws and compliance issues related to those laws.

    Assists in keeping school physically well kept, attractive, and safe

    Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior

    Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the School, including, but not limited to, other leadership team positions, teacher and food service teacher, etc.

    Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions

    Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of/at (school name) Employee Handbook

    Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary

    Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times

    Observes all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children

    Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education or related field

    Site Supervisor or Director's Permit

    At least two years of Assistant Director level experience in a licensed early childhood program or at least five years of lead teacher experience

    Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency including fingerprinting and background check

    Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality

    Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress

    Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    Highly professional and dependable

    Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the internet

    Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations

    15 hours of CPR/First Aid Training

    Completion of state required Mandatory Reporter and Pesticide training.
