    As the Childcare Director for Primrose School of East Aurora, you'll have the opportunity to prepare the school for its grand opening. In preparation for opening, the director's immediate core responsibilities will include preparing the school for licensing approval, hiring, onboarding and training teachers and assisting with enrollment efforts. You will help build a team that is committed to creating a safe and healthy environment and a culture where all children and team members belong and can thrive.

    Our ideal candidate has the following:

    A strong commitment to building positive relationships with staff, families, and the community

    Expert knowledge of Illinois DCFS licensing standards for day care centers

    An Associate/Bachelor/Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education

    Two+ years of child development/ECE teaching experience per IDCFS standards

    Two+ years of ECE Director experience per IDCFS standards

    Responsibilities:

    Operates the school in accordance with the School's vision, mission, policies and procedures and state licensing standards

    Provides a safe, educational, and nurturing environment for children, parents, and staff

    Promotes the school in the community to build awareness, enrollment, and achieve planned profitability

    Provides superior customer service to all external and internal customers

    Keep school physically well kept, attractive, and safe

    Have all furniture, fixtures, equipment, building and playgrounds checked on a regular basis for repairs, maintenance and/or replacement

    Maintain accident / incident reports and statement of illness forms

    Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the School, including, but not limited to, other Leadership Team positions, Teacher, Food Service, and Bus Driver

    The requirement from Illinois DCFS:

    All new childcare directors hired on or after July 1, 2017, shall have a minimum of an associate degree in child development or early childhood education or the equivalent (defined as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education) and either a Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential (see 89 Ill. Adm. Code 50.720(b) and http://www.ilgateways.com/en/illinois-directorcredential-idc) or three semester hours of college credit or 3 points of credential approved training in administration, leadership or management. Additionally, Food Manager Credentials are required.
