    We are looking for dynamic, energetic, and enthusiastic childcare professionals, to support our program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning.

    The future Primrose Teacher is responsible for general classroom management and supervision, which includes the personal care, hygiene of the children. He or she assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis. The Primrose Teacher plans and implements the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum, which includes activities for children that stress physical, social, and emotional growth and provides materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in active play. The Primrose Teacher prepares materials and classrooms for class activities and conducts all activities in a safe, organized, and productive manner. Primrose Teachers are responsible for ensuring compliance with Primrose's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards, while creating a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!

    Our exceptional early childhood education program ensures children have fun while learning and is aimed at preparing them with skills and aptitudes needed to succeed in the 21st century. Our STEAM based Learning Program, the most currently endorsed academic method, happens naturally everyday as children explore, play, and try new things. We focus on developing the seven Learning Domains: personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific thinking, social studies, creative expression and physical development.

    Teacher Qualifications:

    Must have a passion for Early Childhood Education & Ability to relate positively with young children.

    Pre-Kindergarten Teachers: 4 year degree in early childhood or related field required

    Must meet Missouri’s DHSS Childcare Section requirements: 12 clock hours of State training and professional development.

    Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred or pursuing early Childhood Education certification or degree

    Knowledge as a parent or in previous work experience of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.

    Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. This includes but is not limited to the ability to lift, squat, sit, stand, bend and reach.

    Teacher Responsibilities:

    Implements prepared lesson plans and daily classroom schedule.

    Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.

    Meeting the individual's needs of the children by interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.

    Communicates appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.

    Conducts parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.

    Participates in staff and training meetings, while fostering a positive teamwork environment.

    Designs and maintains an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.

    Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.

    Presents expectations that are appropriate to the child’s age and developmental level.

    Plans and implements activities that develop self-esteem and social skills.

    Is Committed to continuing education and professional development according to State Regulations and Primrose’s Learning Methods.

    Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis by using Primrose assessment tools.

    Ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and provides parents with weekly newsletters encompassing the material taught in class.

    Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
