    Full Job Description We are seeking a qualified Food Service Teacher with qualified criminal background check letter from the state of North Carolina for our state-of-the-art facility. The applicant must have a genuine love of children and be an energetic, detail-oriented, organized, problem solver with great communication skills. To provide a safe, clean, healthy food service environment, to prepare and deliver food on a timely basis, to develop healthy menus in accordance with the policies and procedures at the Primrose School of South Charlotte, and to assist in the purchasing and maintenance of food and materials needed to promote children’s health and well-being.

    Qualifications for Food Service Teacher:

    Must have current NC Criminal Background Check. (Please upload with your resume or email a copy to Manager@primrosesouthcharlotte.com)

    Must meet basic requirements of local childcare and foodservice regulatory agencies.

    ServSafe certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

    Strong background in safety and NC sanitation compliance.

    Ability to relate positively to young children is essential.

    Previous experience in quantity food preparation is preferred.

    Experience in food and supplies ordering and stock keeping.

    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations

    Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with loading and unloading boxes of goods and unpacking items for storage

    Must be able to walk at a brisk pace, indoors and outdoors, multiple times throughout the day, while transporting food, goods, children, or rolling a cart.

    Must be able to stand, sit, and bend down or twist at the waist and knees multiple times throughout the day

    Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away

    Understand and remember verbal communication

    Understand and remember written communication

    Be able to work and be physically active for at least 8 hours per day

    Responsibilities:

    Maintains a keen awareness of children that have allergies and food restrictions. Offers substitute items to children who may be allergic or have other food restrictions.

    Ensures food service area and food is free of nuts, nut products or food items that have been processed in a facility that also processes nut products according to the policies and procedures of the Primrose School of South Charlotte. Checks all food labels upon receipt to ensure compliance with this requirement.

    Follows the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the Director/Designee.

    Follows portion control standards for lunch and snacks.

    Is adaptable and implements changes in menus, if instructed to do so.

    Ensures that each meal is ready to be served when scheduled.

    Orders food and supplies orders based on provided budget.

    Maintains an orderly, clean and safe kitchen area at all times, including the proper maintenance of equipment.

    Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.

    Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of South Charlotte Employee Handbook.

    Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
