RICAR Business Consulting LLC (RBC) provides management consulting solutions to public sector and commercial clients. We are seeking an accomplished Principal Consultant to support the State of Florida's Department of Management Services and its Eligible Users through a statewide Management Consulting Services Term Contract. This senior role will lead engagements, guide strategic initiatives, and ensure delivery excellence for agency customers across multiple service categories.
Job Description Summary
The Principal Consultant will serve as the executive-level advisor to state agency clients, directing large-scale consulting projects and ensuring successful delivery of strategic objectives. This position is accountable for customer relationships, operational oversight, and achieving results that align with statewide priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive-level consultation services to customers.
- Serve as the senior interface with customers and manage daily operations.
- Ensure timely performance and completion of all obligations under customer orders.
- Organize and direct overall project performance.
- Possess authority to make binding decisions on behalf of the firm.
- Formulate organizational strategy and direct major strategic initiatives.
- Ensure project goals and objectives are accomplished within budgetary parameters.
- Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Lead large, complex, or multi-discipline consulting engagements.
- Allocate financial, human, and material resources effectively.
- Formulate and enforce work standards across all assigned projects.
- Participate in project design phases and ensure successful execution.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in management consulting services.
- Demonstrated expertise leading strategic initiatives, organizational strategy, and operational improvement efforts.
- Proven experience managing large, complex, or multi-disciplinary engagements.
- Strong background in executive-level customer engagement and relationship management.
- Ability to allocate and manage financial and human resources at scale.
Education & Certifications
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in management consulting services (per RFP/SOW requirements).
Preferred (Customer-specific scopes may request):
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Public Administration, Organizational Development).
- Professional certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or Certified Management Consultant (CMC).
Work Location & Arrangement
- Location : Primarily in Florida at customer sites statewide.
- Arrangement : Hybrid; travel to customer offices is required, with flexibility for remote work when authorized by customers.
Schedule & Position Type
- Standard business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (ET).
- Position Type : Full-time, contract.
- Travel : May be required as authorized by the Customer in accordance with project needs. Travel expenses will only be reimbursed if pre-approved and in compliance with section 112.061, Florida Statutes.
