Job Description
** Principal Microbiologist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :**
- Consult with external and internal clients on a technical basis
- Meet with clients to discuss special projects; independently participate in client audits of test areas
- Ability to design and execute studies
- Write/revise protocols and related documents to meet regulatory expectations and requirements
- Act as a technical resource, trainer, troubleshooter and lead/support projects for the advancement of the department
- Perform analyses for microbiology (routine and non-routine)
- Set up and validate new analytical or related processes used by the department
- Review and evaluate raw data for acceptability
- Manages the day-to-day operation of the microbiology department to insure smooth flow of samples and testing
- Oversees the checking and transfer of microbiology data as necessary and takes steps to correct possibly inaccurate data prior to continued processing or release
- Oversees the orientation of new microbiology staff to their responsibilities and the function of the microbiology department
- Works with Quality Assurance to resolve client complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendation to management
- Identifies process improvements to better meet client expectations and company objectives.
- Recommends new equipment for the microbiology department.
- Compiles statistics
- Serves as a liaison for the department to outside vendors
- Assists the Director of Operations in the development of a budget and monitors microbiology expenditures
- Performs duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies
- Supports Eurofins CellTx’ s business philosophy, leadership values and ethics
