    ROLE OVERVIEW

    Adobe is seeking a strategic and outcome-focused leader to serve as the Principal Product Manager for Adobe’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role drives the vision, strategy, governance, and product innovation of this enterprise-wide platform. This hybrid role combines strategic leadership with hands-on product management to ensure our CMDB delivers accurate, actionable configuration data that enables IT Service Management, cloud operations, security, compliance, automation, and operational excellence at scale.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead strategically
    • Define and own the CMDB vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to business goals.
    • Own measurable business outcomes enabled by the CMDB, such as improved change success rate, reduced MTTR, audit readiness, operational risk reduction, etc.
    • Establish governance frameworks, data quality standards, and compliance processes balancing rigor with data quality and usability
    • Provide executive-level reporting on CMDB health, critical metrics, and business impact.

    PRODUCT OWNERSHIP

    • Lead the CMDB as a product, building positive partnerships with the customers, and establishing continuous feedback loops informed by market trends and competitive insights.
    • Act as the business owner for the CMDB platform, managing backlog, prioritization, and delivery.
    • Gather and translate requirements from cross-functional partners-including Product, IT, Security, HR, Legal, and Sales Ops-to drive continuous improvement across CMDB capabilities, integrations, and user experience.
    • Ensure the platform supports modern, dynamic environments including public & private clouds, SaaS, containers, and ephemeral infrastructure.

    OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

    The chosen applicant will ensure the CMDB aligns with ITIL standards and fully supports core ITSM processes-including Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management-while coordinating integrations with discovery tools, monitoring systems, and cloud platforms. In addition, the candidate will lead automation initiatives sought at improving efficiency, strengthening data quality, and reducing operational risk.

    COLLABORATION & LEADERSHIP

    This role partners closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure the accuracy and reliability of configuration data, and collaborates with the ServiceNow vendor to maintain alignment with and influence the evolving roadmap for CMDB tools and related technologies.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    10+ years in IT Service Management, IT Operations, or related fields, with at least 5 years in CMDB leadership.

    Proven experience in product management or ownership of enterprise IT platforms.

    Deep knowledge of ITIL framework and CMDB protocols.

    Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB or similar platforms.

    Solid understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.

    Exceptional relationship management, communication, and leadership skills.

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    Experience using CMDB or configuration data to drive operational analytics, risk scoring, and decision support.

    Experience driving automation and orchestration initiatives.

    Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.

    Ability to influence at all levels and lead organizational change.

By transforming configuration and service data into a trusted platform, the selected candidate will enable faster delivery, safer change, stronger compliance, and better experiences for both internal teams and customers.

    Expected Pay Range:
    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $158,000 -- $304,050 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

    In California, the pay range for this position is $210,000 - $304,050

    At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

    In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
