At Adobe, our Research and AI team develops generative AI models and applications, enabling customers to ideate, build, and scale content in new ways. We're looking for a Principal PM to lead the development of commercial safety systems that help customers confidently use a wide range of AI models. You'll set the strategy and drive execution of the frameworks and protections that make our generative AI ecosystem trustworthy and commercially viable.
You'll collaborate with our AI Safety team, research scientists, legal, and engineering. This role offers growth opportunities. We seek someone comfortable with uncertainty, able to act quickly, and clarify a technically complex and legally changing area.
What you'll do
Define and lead the roadmap for commercial safety systems throughout Adobe's model environment, collaborating with AI Safety, research, legal, and product leadership
Translate safety research and innovations into production-ready systems and features
Develop scalable evaluation frameworks and analyze data to grasp and convey tradeoffs between safety protections and generative quality
Engage with customers and internal collaborators to understand governance requirements and compliance needs
Track the evolving AI safety and regulatory landscape to build our product response
Turn complex technical and legal concepts into clear requirements and success metrics
What you'll need
7+ years of product management experience
Experience shipping AI or ML-powered products
Comfort navigating ambiguous, fast paced legal and technical environments
Strong cross-functional instincts; you'll collaborate across research, engineering, legal, and policy
Strong focus on metrics; capable of measuring tradeoffs and applying data to guide decisions, particularly when safety and generation experience are in conflict
Customer-first approach with a track record of building scalable systems grounded in real user needs
Nice to have
Experience with AI safety, content moderation, or trust and safety systems
Experience collaborating with legal or policy teams
Background in generative AI

Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $148,100 -- $282,100 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
In California, the pay range for this position is $194,800 - $282,100 │ In New York, the pay range for this position is $194,800 - $282,100 │ In Washington, the pay range for this position is $178,600 - $258,700
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
