About the Role
We are hiring a Principal Software Engineer – Embedded Linux Cybersecurity. This is a senior technical role focused on designing, developing, and delivering secure software features across embedded Linux platforms. You’ll serve as a hands-on engineer, mentor, and technical advisor, guiding teams and influencing both internal projects and the broader open-source ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Build secure embedded software for high-assurance automotive platforms.
Architecture Leadership: Lead PoC development and documentation for microcontroller-based secure architectures.
Collaboration: Work with suppliers and stakeholders on secure boot, TrustZone, encrypted filesystems, and hardware interfaces.
Open-Source Contributions: Represent the team in the Linux/embedded community to extend security features.
Technical Leadership: Guide internal teams, mentor engineers, and serve as a trusted advisor.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to MISRA, SEI CERT, AUTOSAR, and industry cybersecurity standards.
Automation & CI/CD: Partner with DevOps/test teams to create pipelines and strengthen automated testing.
Problem Solving: Drive root-cause analysis and lead improvements for software reliability.
Agile Practices: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, promoting transparency and collaboration.
Core Requirements
10+ years of embedded systems development (hardware + software).
Expertise in C/C++, RTOS, and Linux kernel/driver-level programming.
Proficiency with Yocto, BSP integration, secure firmware, and board bring-up.
Strong grasp of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
Experience in security-enhanced development practices and automation.
Excellent leadership, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on with secure boot, TrustZone, and encryption technologies.
Relevant certifications: OSCP, CISSP, GIAC, or similar.
Familiarity with compliance standards: ISO/SAE 21434, OWASP, COBIT, ITIL.
Background in automotive, defense, or high-assurance domains.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Japanese fluency (preferred) for international collaboration.
