When you come to work, you'll be:

The Machine Technician is responsible for troubleshooting the repairs and maintenance of the printers and other equipment throughout the facility. The Tech will perform tasks related to Machine Maintenance to ensure a safe and productive working environment.

THE FOCUS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

• Performing daily, weekly and monthly preventative equipment maintenance.

• Perform troubleshooting as well as timely and efficient repairs of machine breakdowns as they happen throughout the day/week.

• Document and log all repairs and maintenance tasks as per standard operating procedure (SOP) for tracking, analysis and performance; submit regular reports to management.

• Perform root cause analysis of machine failures and identify corrective actions to prevent recurrences.

• Test and validate operating parameters of various machine processes, make adjustments to settings and calibrate when needed. 

• Liaison with vendors for ordering replacement parts and making sure all critical components are stocked and organized.

• Provide support to production leads and advise both management and production staff of challenges or issues.

• Write, maintain and organize SOPs as to keep them current and accurate for both technicians and machine operators.

• Assist production leads with training and verifying competencies of machine operators as to mitigate the risk of damage to equipment or operator safety.

• Follow electrical/mechanical schematics, diagrams and manuals for performing detailed troubleshooting and repairs on highly technical machine systems.

• Prioritize and schedule machine repairs/maintenance in a manner to reduce the impact on production, work with Facilities Supervisor and Operations Manager to ensure transparency and efficiency.

• Assist with analyzing trends with machine issues and formulate proactive countermeasures using various softwares and developer resources.

• Other duties as assigned

• Flexible Hours are a plus

If you have any industrial printing experience as either an operator or a technician:

You know how to change out a printhead

You understand when you must change an encoder strip
