New employees are trained as machine helpers and work in a support role of the machine operator processing coated Kraft paper materials and laminations.

New employees who successfully adapt to the work environment, job duties and safety culture of SKC can bid to fill open positions within the company as new opportunities become available.

    About the typical workday

You will keep busy opening raw materials, helping to load the raw materials on the machine, unloading the finished product, cleaning up, changing over to other products and doing what it takes to keep the equipment running. There are periods of down time and intense periods of work. Staying busy is a key attribute to help balance the workflow.

    Qualifications

We will train you to operate various stations of our main production machine progressively. The job requires some heavy lifting (up to 70lbs.), the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, reach, stretch, twist and squat. Excellent communication skills and general proficiency with computers are required to manage the process. You must be able to read both a standard and metric tape measure and use it accurately.
