    Overview:

    ESO Consultants is currently seeking an Operations Support Analyst. This role involves providing technical support to operating units in conjunction with the Data Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with JCL abend interpretation, restart/recovery processes, and data set space allocation. Additionally, flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime based on customer workload and business needs is required.

     

    Responsibilities:

    \- Assistance with JCL abend interpretation, restart/recovery processes, and data set space allocation.

    \- Providing technical support to operating units in conjunction with the Data Center.

    \- Interface with data processing technical staff and the application user community to resolve problems and provide instructions and assistance in the use of applications software.

    \- Flexibility to work as required, on weekends, holidays, and overtime based on customer workload and business needs.

    \- Physical ability to lift PC monitors, PCs, and boxes of printer paper in conjunction with normal duties.

     

    Preferred:

    \- Good communication skills both verbal and written.

    \- Knowledge of Automatic Job Scheduling software (BMC or Zeke).

    \- Knowledgeable and skilled in problem resolution and use, at the user workstation level including printers, print servers, PCs, and peripherals, including burster and decollater.

    \- Some experience in the LAN/PC environment and be familiar with the Oracle/PeopleSoft environment.

    \- Level-one knowledge of Help Desk Support.

    \- Knowledge of Web-Based Processing on an Oracle/PeopleSoft platform.

    \- Exposure to storage and storage area network (SAN) management.

     

    Requirements:

    \- Either one (1) year of formal education beyond the high school level or a minimum of two (2) years’ current hands-on computer operations experience.

    \- Demonstrated experience in a large Data Center with multiple CPUs and Operating Platforms, and a network consisting of a circuit bandwidth that ranges from 9600 to T-1’s supporting critical online applications in operations on a 24/7 basis.

     

    Operating environment knowledge requirements:

    \- Mainframes: IBM (3090-300J, ES9000-620).

    \- IBM Operating Systems: MVS/ESA, CICS 6.2.0.

    \- PCs: IBM Compatible (Dell or HP).

    \- Hardware: Moore (Burster and Decollater) IBM 6400 impact printers and InfoPrint 4000 Laser printer.

    \- Mainframe Software: JCL, ISPF/TSO, CICS, IBM UTILITIES, IOF, NETVIEW, VPS, AUTOMATIC SCHEDULER (ZEKE), PC DOS, WINDOWS Server OS, M’SOFT OFFICE SUITE, FTP.
