Priority Responder – SERVPRO of NW Portland

    Full-Time | On-Call Rotation Required

    About the Role

Our Priority Responders are the first line of help when a home or business experiences water, fire, or other property damage. This is a people-first position: you’ll be the steady voice and calm presence for customers dealing with stressful emergencies. Your job is to show up with empathy, assess the situation quickly, and guide the customer through the first steps of the restoration process.

If you enjoy helping people, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want a role where every day is different, this is a strong fit.

    Key Responsibilities

    Emergency Response

Respond immediately to emergency losses, both during normal business hours and while on-call.

Arrive on site quickly, assess damage, gather critical loss information, and determine next steps.

Communicate clearly with customers, property managers, adjusters, plumbers, and other referral partners.

Take initial photos, moisture readings, and document conditions for the Mitigation Team.

    Customer Care

Show professionalism, empathy, and confidence during high-stress situations.

Help customers understand the restoration process and what to expect next.

Provide reassurance, problem-solving, and support from the first phone call through handoff to the production team.

    Sales & Relationship Building

Build trust and rapport with customers, plumbers, agencies, and other partners.

Identify potential job opportunities and ensure complete onboarding of new losses.

Represent SERVPRO positively in the field and at partner locations.

    Operational Duties

Complete digital documentation accurately and promptly.

Maintain a clean, organized, and response-ready vehicle and equipment.

Coordinate with dispatch, the mitigation team, and management to ensure seamless job handoff.

Participate in weekly meetings, field training, and ongoing skills development.

    Schedule & On-Call Requirements

    Standard workweek with scheduled shifts.

Rotating on-call duties (evenings, weekends, and some holidays).

Must be able to respond to emergency losses within the required response window.

Flexibility and reliability are essential—customers depend on our rapid response.

    What We’re Looking For

Strong empathy, communication, and customer-service mindset.

Ability to stay calm under pressure and make decisions quickly.

Comfortable working in homes, commercial buildings, and occasionally in challenging environments (attics, crawlspaces, etc.).

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.

Prior restoration, construction, or emergency response experience is a plus but not required—training provided.
