    ABOUT THE J.B. AND M.K. PRITZKER FAMILY FOUNDATIONThe Pritzker Family Foundation was founded in 2001 by J.B. and M.K. Pritzker with a commitment to and a focus on social and economic justice and equity. Each area of focus for the foundation was chosen because of enormous inequities in those systems and a deep desire to create more just and equitable outcomes. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking in three areas: early childhood, community health, and civil and human rights.The Foundation's offices are headquartered in Chicago, IL.Internship OpportunityThe Foundation seeks a Program and Research Intern who will assist the Foundation’s program officers:•Research programs and organizations as part of the Foundation’s grantmaking process •Write recommendations for grantmaking investments •Collect and analyze reports and data from grantee partners •Research and develop new strategies for reaching the Foundation’s strategic goals•Research trends in philanthropy and other sectors, especially as it relates to efforts to ensure that justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion are built into the Foundation’s grants and processes•Perform related duties as assigned in order to meet the Foundation’s objectives Qualities and characteristicsThe ideal candidate will have an interest in and academic background in social welfare, policy, public health, early childhood, maternal and child health, or a related field and will want to use their talents in service of the Foundation’s work to create effective solutions at the local, state, and national levels. They will be rigorous, data driven, and will ask and answer tough questions. They must have a passion for social change, justice and equity, and the not-for-profit sector.Candidates may be undergraduate or graduate students working toward a degree in social work, public policy, public health, child development, social services, or similar fields. Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is a must, experience working with data is a huge plus. The ideal candidate will be able to dedicate 24 to 40 hours per week during the summer to this role. Previous non-profit/foundation exposure is preferred, but not required. The Foundation is currently on a hybrid working schedule, with at least two days in the office.
