Private Philadelphia based family seeks a highly skilled and flexible Private Chef / Family Assistant to deliver outstanding culinary and household support. This is a full-time position based in Philadelphia, PA with seasonal presence in Amagansett, NY from mid-June through mid-September. The ideal candidate is a talented chef and a dedicated team player, eager to pitch in wherever needed to support the household and family. The Chef / Family Assistant will collaborate closely with household staff and principals, providing culinary excellence alongside practical assistance in daily operations. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a willingness to take on diverse tasks are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee all elements of food and beverage service within the residence on a daily basis
- Prepare meals for principal upon request
- Provision food and household goods efficiently and thoughtfully, maintaining inventory
- Handle all cooking, meal service, and kitchen cleanup with care and attention
- Provide chauffeur service as needed
- Running errands and completing additional tasks as needed
- Support light housekeeping tasks such as occasional bed making
- Assist with basic home maintenance and pet care
- House sitting as needed
- Light laundry and household provisioning
- Pitch in with errands and miscellaneous household requests
- Work closely with household staff to ensure smooth daily operations and foster a supportive team environment
- Additional Chef/Family Assistant related tasks and responsibilities as needed and upon request
Requirements:
- Strong command of English language; superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
- Minimum 5+ years related experience working in a similar role for a private home or family
- Cooking skills; ability to prepare fresh meals upon request
- Exceptional organization skills and multitask management
- Professional in both mindset and manor
- A true team player who embraces collaboration and is always willing to help where needed
- Incredibly “hands-on” and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, adaptable, and proactive with a “no task too small” mentality
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High discretion and respect for family privacy
Salary: $150,000 - $190,000 per year plus 5-10% performance-based bonus All salaries depend on experience, references, and results of background checks
