Job Description

Our company is based in Los Angeles and is looking for highly skilled software engineer to develop front and back-end of Direct-to-Consumer websites, primarily with the eCommerce platform Shopify. The ideal candidate has experience in both Shopify and broader, full-stack development, and will craft online stores with custom code, build scalable web applications, third party integrations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

· Develop on the Shopify Plus platform, themes, liquid programming language and custom apps

· Maintain and enhance existing Shopify Plus ecommerce websites while adhering to best practices

· Write clean and scalable HTML, CSS, JavaScript code and contribute to front-end style guide

· Contribute to web technologies, for building seamless multi-channel experiences

· Work with designers to develop responsive front-end experiences in Shopify that engage visitors and convert them into customers

· Develop scalable responsive templates to provide progressive enhancement for modern browsers

· Maintain Shopify sites for optimal user experience, A/B testing

· Build new Shopify sites

· Implement and test software for Shopify integrations

· Contribute to continual front-end enhancements and conversion optimization on the website

· Communicate with all stakeholders when you don't have what you need or when a project could be delayed with as much advance notice as possible

· Additional ad hoc requests, as needed

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field, preferred

· 5 - 8 Years of experience in Website Development

· Shopify Plus experience required

· Expert in Shopify Liquid template language

· Experience with Shopify object/properties, AJAX API and Meta fields

· Experience with third party services and APIs, specifically plugins for Shopify

· Experience with Typescript/Java script backend development, JSON and RESTful interfaces,

AWS (RDS, S3, Lambda, Elastic Search, Redis, DynamoDB) a Plus

· Demonstrable expertise and coding experience in e-commerce web and application development using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, required.

· Experience using Java, PHP, JSON, XML and AJAX, preferred.

· Experience with best practices for QA, cross browser testing and debugging

· Experience with pre-built themes and storefront API

· Experience working with other eCommerce platforms like Demandware, Magento, Drupal preferred

· Experience working for eCommerce companies

· Strong problem solving and communication skills (written and verbal)

· Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams for projects

· Comfortable in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, work environment
