Private Duty CNA / HHA Caregiver, One-on-One Home Care
Private duty home care is different from facility work. You are not responsible for a hallway of patients. You are helping one person at a time with the daily support they need to remain safe and comfortable at home.
Assisting Hands Home Care is hiring private duty caregivers, CNAs, and HHAs for in-home care opportunities in Jacksonville, Duval County, and nearby areas.
This is a W-2 employee position. It is not a 1099 contractor role or registry position.
We are locally owned by a husband and wife team who are active and accessible. We care about doing home care the right way: clear communication, thoughtful caregiver matching, and respect for the people who care for our clients.
Why Private Duty Caregivers Choose Assisting Hands

Minimum 4-hour shifts, with 8-hour and 12-hour shifts available when needed
W-2 employment with payroll taxes handled through payroll
Same-day pay access through TapCheck
Direct deposit
Referral bonuses
Mileage reimbursement between same-day client visits
Support from a team that appreciates dependable caregivers
Typical pay is $16 to $18 per hour for most cases. Higher rates may be available for select assignments based on schedule, location, client needs, and case complexity.
What Private Duty Caregivers Do
Your role is to help clients with the activities that allow them to remain clean, safe, comfortable, and supported at home.
Responsibilities may include:
Personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Transfer and mobility assistance
Meal preparation
Light housekeeping related to the client
Medication reminders
Companionship and conversation
Help with errands or appointments when included in the care plan
Communicating clearly with the office about changes, concerns, or schedule issues
Some clients need hands-on personal care. Others need supervision, reminders, companionship, or help around the home. We work to place caregivers on cases that fit their skills, availability, and comfort level whenever possible.
A Good Match for This Role This position is best for caregivers who are calm, reliable, and professional. Clients and families depend on caregivers to arrive on time, follow the care plan, and treat the home with respect.
If you enjoy steady, meaningful work and like building trust with clients over time, private duty home care may be a better fit than facility-based care.
