Special Education Teacher in Naperville IL for 3 Homebound Sisters
Job Description
Three sisters in North Naperville need all instruction to be in the home due to medical conditions. Pay is $50-75 per hour, depending on credentials and experience. 15-20 hours of work is expected for a typical 5-day school week, which includes paid plan time each week. In general, instruction begins at 9:45am and ends at 2:30pm from Monday through Friday, but there is some flexibility in the weekly schedule. Also, some days off are planned due to students’ medical appointments or days off requested by the teachers. You would be co-teaching with another special education teacher who has been in our program for 2 years. Most instruction is 1:1. Students’ current skill levels are grades 2-5. Requirements: Illinois PEL; LBS1 endorsement; Experience creating, modifying and delivering lesson plans for special education students; Experience writing and implementing IEP goals and managing progress data; Must live within 30 minutes’ drive of North Naperville. Must be fully vaccinated against Covid; Mask usage required. Elementary or Junior High experience preferred. We seek a commitment for Fall 2023, but there is some possibility to continue for the rest of the school year.
We have one substitute teacher who has been with us for 2 years, but we are also looking for a second substitute teacher for this program for days when she is not available, so if you would like to work a bit here and there, but not every day, then please express interest in the "substitute" special education teacher position. In our program the substitute teacher delivers lessons which have been planned by the main / regular teachers.
