Private/High-End Residential Chemical Dependency Program (Rehab) Seeks FT Chef
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Miracle Mile)
Salary Range: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, responsible for lunch and dinner service as well as prepping breakfast for following day

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, creative and passionate Chef to join our team at an 18-bed residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment facility with an additional 25-person outpatient program. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to providing healthy, gourmet meals that are beautifully presented. The Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality lunches and dinners Monday through Friday for both clients and staff, prepping breakfast for the following day, daily smoothie and juice bar for clients, preparing gourmet and healthy snacks, keeping all beverage machines working and stocked, prepping and ordering for weekend staff, managing food inventory, and maintaining strict hygiene and budgetary standards. All meals will feature appetizers and/or amuse bouche, entree, no less than 2 sides, salad (not iceberg or garden, but a creative option to the main entree), and desert. All meals expected to be presented professionally and photo-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare nutritious, gourmet lunches and dinners Monday through Friday for approximately 30–35 individuals that include appetizers, salads and desert with each meal. Daily gourmet snacks, smoothies and beverage machines stocked and cleaned. Order and stock facility snacks and beverages.
Create seasonal menus with variety and balanced nutrition tailored to the needs of a recovery-focused population.
Serve seasona and temperature appropriate meals e.g. no sou or chili when it's 90 degrees, etc.
Ensure exceptional food presentation and quality with a focus on fresh, whole ingredients.
Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards in compliance with health codes and licensing requirements.
Manage food inventory, procurement, and storage within a set budget.
Track expenses and submit weekly inventory and budget reports as required.
Accommodate special dietary needs including vegetarian, gluten-free, and allergy-sensitive meals.
Collaborate with facility leadership to align meal service with programming schedules and facility needs.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and equipment sanitation.
Coordinate and liase with our dietician and other medical professionals.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of professional cooking experience
Formal culinary training or equivalent on-the-job experience
Strong knowledge of nutrition and special dietary needs
Exceptional cooking and food presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to manage food budgets efficiently
Valid California Food Handler Certification
Reliable, punctual, and professional with excellent communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
