About the Role Pleasant Hill Academy is seeking a reliable and caring Private School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and school-related activities. The ideal candidate is committed to student safety, maintains a professional attitude, and reflects Christian values through positive interactions with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

Safely transport students on assigned routes.

Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly bus environment.

Follow all Florida traffic laws and school transportation policies.

Ensure students board, ride, and exit the bus safely.

Maintain accurate route, mileage, and inspection records.

Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and administration.

Report accidents, incidents, maintenance concerns, or student behavior issues promptly.

Assist with loading and unloading students when necessary.

Transport students for field trips and special school events as assigned.

Qualifications

Valid Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements, or ability to obtain before employment.

Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.

Clean driving record.

Ability to pass all required Level II background screening and drug testing.

Ability to meet all Florida Department of Education and Department of Highway Safety requirements for school bus drivers.

Excellent attendance and reliability.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable working with children of all ages.

Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Christian school.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous school bus driving experience.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Experience working with children in an educational setting.

PAY RATE DETERMINED BY EXPERIENCE & REFERENCES
