Junior Sales Engineer

Woburn, MA
Full Time

  • Responsibilities

We are looking for an emerging salesperson who has a strong desire to become a technically-minded salesperson for Privo, a fast-growing AWS Consulting Partner based in Boston.  AWS is growing at ~50% per year and there is no end in sight to the long-term trend towards public cloud adoption. We need people who want to join this burgeoning industry, people who are passionate about how cloud computing can help businesses transform their businesses.

    THE JOB ROLE

A big part of this role is developing your technical chops to eventually join the Privo Sales Engineering staff.  Therefore, we want candidates who are willing to put in the time to grow their AWS technical skills.

    • Call prospective customers and set appointments with Privo Sales Engineers

    • Join Privo Sales Engineers on sales calls and handle follow-up actions

    • Wrangle HubSpot to provide reports to AWS on the status of current deals in motion

    • Coordinate sales and marketing initiatives on behalf of Privo Sales Engineers

    • Follow-up with customers that have fallen out of touch

    • Work directly with AWS to target specific accounts that would be a good fit for our services

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Other-worldly communication skills (both verbal and written) - and undeniable charm
    • Strong desire to grow your technical skills
    • Self-motivated to contribute to our fast-growing company -- you have to be hungry
    • AWS Cloud Practioner Certification - REQUIRED if you don't have it already just go get it. It's a small investment of your time and well worth it.
    • AWS Solutions Architect (Associate Certification) This is a HUGE bonus if you have this. If you don't, you'll be working towards it during your first 3 months on the job.
    • Technical background in MIS or engineering a plus
    • Having preexisting knowledge of AWS or IT infrastructure is a huge bonus

    WHAT WE OFFER

    • A ridiculously great work environment. Our top priority as a company is creating a place where people love to work. Our office is relaxed, collaborative, and fun. We started our business with the premise that smart and creative people have a strong distaste for bureaucracy and micromanagement and they find it painful to work for small-minded people/companies. They want to come to work to make an impact, solve interesting problems, help their teammates, grow their skills and their careers, and build something great. We give you the freedom, respect, and resources to do what you need to do, so your job doesn't have to feel like a job. On top of that, the company is growing extremely fast which is both exciting and challenging at the same time. If you like a little bit of a faster pace, you'll love it here.

    • Endless Training and Career Development. The kind of people we are looking for are driven by a deep desire for continuous learning.  AWS is the leading cloud platform and we give our employees the opportunity to learn it inside and out. We will pay for your AWS certifications and support your career development in any way we can.

    • Flexibility.  It's important that you live in the Boston area and come to the office most days, but you don't have to come in every day.  If you can be productive at home, we can develop a flexible schedule to fit your lifestyle. We collaborate using Slack and other tools and it works great.

    THE COVER LETTER IS KEY

If this sounds like your kind of place, we, of course, want to see your resume, but more importantly, we want to hear why you think you would be successful here.  We're not asking for the standard cover letter.  We want your authentic voice and your personality to come through.  Tell us your story. If you half-ass a cover letter or send something generic, we're going to half-ass our consideration of it and send you a generic rejection letter.  No offense.

We look forward to meeting you!
