    THE JOB ROLE

We want you to join our End-user Compute team.  You will be helping to support our clients with their day-to-day IT issues: everything from troubleshooting applications, deploying new laptops and assisting with a wide range of IT projects.  For the most part, we support our clients remotely using ConnectWise Automate, but we also go on-site from time-to-time (in the Greater Boston Area). The job requires equal parts of customer service skills and technical skills with an emphasis on soft skills and autonomous research capabilities. It's a launchpad for systems administration and IT infrastructure project work.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Reliable transportation

    • Other-worldly communication and customer service skills

    • An infectious positive attitude

    • Ability to manage your time and keep things from falling through the cracks even with multiple, simultaneous projects going on

    • 2+ years of experience in an IT role, preferably with an MSP providing remote IT assistance to end-users

    • Experience troubleshooting desktop issues (Windows/Mac, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, browsers, printing, etc.)

    • Familiarity with troubleshooting email flow on platforms like Office 365 and GSuite

    • Incredible call control

    • A history of autonomous research

    • Demonstrated ability to create easy-to-understand documentation

    • Any experience with advanced networking, server operating systems, Office365/Exchange, Google Apps for Work, Watchguard or SonicWall firewalls, AWS, or ConnectWise is a nice bonus

    WHAT WE OFFER

A RIDICULOUSLY GREAT WORK ENVIRONMENT. Our top priority as a company is creating a place where people love to work. Our office is relaxed, collaborative, and fun.  We started our business with the premise that smart and creative people have a strong distaste for bureaucracy and micromanagement and they find it painful to work for small-minded people/companies. They want to come to work to make an impact, solve interesting problems, help their teammates, grow their skills and their careers, and build something great. We give you the freedom, respect, and resources to do what you need to do, so your job doesn't have to feel like a job.  On top of that, the company is growing extremely fast which is both exciting and challenging at the same time.  If you like a little bit of a faster pace, you'll love it here.

ENDLESS TRAINING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. The kind of people we are looking for are driven by a deep desire for continuous learning. One of the first things we do with new people is making a training and career development plan that charts a course for where you want to be in 3 years.  Then we actually follow through and give you the time and opportunity to pursue certifications, learn new technologies, hone your consulting skills, or accomplish whatever is in your plan.  We even give you scheduled time away from your daily duties to invest in yourself and pursue interesting internal projects.

AWS CLOUD AND SECURITY PROJECTS.  In addition to our MSP business, we have a strong AWS cloud migration and management practice that is on the cutting-edge.  The technologies and problems we are solving for customers are as juicy as you can get. If you have an interest in developing your AWS skillset we will help you to become an MSP-focused AWS expert.

    WHO WE ARE

We are Privo, an AWS Advanced Consulting partner based in Woburn, MA with expertise in AWS migrations and management, managed services/helpdesk, and cybersecurity.

Think for a moment about the vast numbers of servers humming away in dusty server closets and co-location facilities around the world. Virtually all businesses that still own and operate their own servers (over 90% of businesses!) know they should move to the cloud but they lack the time and expertise to architect, migrate, and manage their infrastructure in the cloud. It requires knowledge of not just of the AWS platform but also of networking, VPNs, databases, Linux, Windows, security, monitoring, scalability, backups, and much more.   On top of that, you have brilliant people with great ideas that want to scale their applications globally in days not months, and they come to us to make it happen on the AWS platform.

Finding people with these skills -- AWS, general IT infrastructure, and security -- is like hunting for winged unicorns.  On one hand, it's why our services are so in demand but it's also why we are always struggling to find people to meet that demand.  Therefore, we seek people who are smart, charming, gritty, and anxious to learn; and we give them opportunities to learn new skills and go deeper with the ones they already have.  If you are looking for a place to grow professionally, this is it.

    THE COVER LETTER IS KEY

If this sounds like your kind of place, we, of course, want to see your resume, but more importantly, we want to hear _why _you think you would be successful here.  We're not asking for the standard cover letter. We want your authentic voice and your personality to come through. Tell us your story. If you half-ass a cover letter or send something generic, we're going to half-ass our consideration of it and send you a generic rejection letter. No offense.

We look forward to meeting you!
