AS A FIRE PROTECTION PROJECT ENGINEER/ DESIGNER YOU WILL:
- Coordination with clients and the design team, including owners, architects, contractors, members of other disciplines, and internal support staff to ensure the design is consistent with the client’s vision, to ensure a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design, and to ensure the design schedule is maintained
- Coordination with local jurisdictions from the point of preliminary design through the permitting process and construction completion
- Preparation of superior quality fire protection construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings in educational, hospital, retail, restaurant, and office market sectors. Including OSHPD, DSA, and local AHJ requirements.
- Design fire protection systems including all associated devices, equipment, and specifications.
- Perform fire protection calculations required to support the fire protection design
- Execute BIM modeling and field surveying
- Review fire protection submittal documents for contractual compliance and areas of conflict with all building systems
- Work closely with equipment vendors and manufacturers’ representatives for selection and specification of appropriate equipment
- Play an active role in project meetings with clients and colleagues
- Assist with growing our Fire Protection division
Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Good working knowledge of NFPA codes and industry standards
- NICET a plus
- High mechanical interest
- 2 years minimum experience in the Fire Protection Design field
- 2 years minimum of AutoCAD experience
- Ability to multi-task to the extreme
- valid driver's license and excellent driving record - must pass a background check
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated with great organization skills
- Experience with OSHPD, DSA, and local AHJ
