    Job description We have been retained by Keuka College to findthem their next Accounting Analyst. Summary: The Accounting Analyst performs a wide range of detailed accounting functions pertaining to assigned fund area of accounts or departments and assures day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives. This includes duties related to posting and reconciling general ledger accounts. This position will be responsible for providing financial information to supervisory management by researching and analyzing accounting data; then preparing reports. The Accounting Analyst will ensure process improvement techniques to further the department's ability to produce reporting that supports accurate and timely management decision-making. Essential Responsibilities: · Acts as a backup for the daily processing of the Colleague system updates. Monthly review and accounting for revenue and expenditures by departments; reviews and reports financial transactions to funding sources; ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance with college, local, state, and federal requirements, and standard accounting and audit procedures. · Investigates and resolves problems related to funds, budgets, expenditures, and/or procurement practices. · Provides assistance in the development, implementation and maintenance of internal fiscal systems and procedures, applying basic concepts, methods, and techniques. · Prepares accounting reports and statements, such as detailed accounting analysis. · Identifies informational needs of management and revises or refines account structures or data accordingly. · Performs fixed asset review and processing in the fixed asset module, including any required journal entries for asset capitalization, depreciation expense, etc. · Prepares and enters journal entries, maintains complex ledgers, prepares detailed accounting information, and reconciles and analyzes reports and ledgers. · Prepares monthly review of donations/gifts and reconciles the Endowment balances monthly. · Reviews and recommends coding of financial transactions. · Assists with financial audits, including gift annuity audits. · Assists in monitoring and supporting taxation requirements, including quarterly Sales tax reporting. · Enters GL account access and approvals. · Ensures that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements to maintain the integrity of financial data. · Maintains a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintains effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork. · Attends provided/necessary trainings and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required. · Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision and values and adhering to institutional policies. · Maintains high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures. · Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. · Performs other functions as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications : 1. A Bachelor's (preferred) or Associate's degree in accounting or related field and at least two (2) years' experience in related accounting field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 2. Advanced computer experience required, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ellucian experience a plus. 3. Ability to analyze processes and identify ways to create efficiencies. 4. Ability to work independently and perform research. 5. Excellent planning and organizational skills. 6. Ability to multi-task and work in a busy office setting. Must be able to stay focused and not easily distracted. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. 8. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times. 9. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public. 10. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people. 11. Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This role offers 1 day a week WFH and free tuition. 4 weeks PTO.
