Responsibilities: You’ll play a critical role in the firm, supporting our attorneys and working with existing staff in the following areas: Estate AdministrationDocument Preparation: Draft and file probate judicial council forms, petitions, inventories, and accountings. • Asset Management: Work directly with clients to help gather and manage information about the decedent’s assets and debts. • Communication: Serve as a bridge between beneficiaries, creditors, and court personnel. • Distribution: Assist in distributing assets to beneficiaries (no Rings of Power, though). • Calendar and track critical deadlines across multiple, concurrent matters. Trust LitigationLegal Research: Research trust laws and relevant case law. • Document Drafting: Aid in the preparation of motions, supporting papers, and pleadings for trust litigation cases. • Case Management: Keep case files organized, indexed, and battle-ready. • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, gathering crucial information, and keeping them in the loop. • Trial Preparation: Assist in preparing for trial, including organizing exhibits and maintaining a strategic edge. Qualifications: • Minimum 2-3 years working as a paralegal in California probate administration and/or trust litigation. • Demonstrated working knowledge of California Probate Code, Judicial Council probate forms, and court filing procedures in Los Angeles and/or Orange County probate courts. • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent education/experience. • Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Outstanding written and verbal communication. • Discretion, confidentiality, and the organizational discipline to manage multiple active matters without dropping a deadline. Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly
