We are seeking a detail-oriented organized individual to join our already established team. The Procedure Coordinator/Pre-Auth Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling procedures, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately, obtaining all necessary pre-authorization for procedures, providing administrative support to the office staff, coordinating transportation if needed and being point of contact between patients, providers, office staff, billing company, insurance carriers and ASC facilities
Duties:
· Schedule/Re-schedule procedures and coordinate with patients, providers, billing company and other medical staff as needed
· Obtains, records, prepares and maintains patient demographic information, records, insurance information and all other pertinent details to guarantee proper medical care and accurate/timely claim payments
. Obtains pre authorization for procedures (Interventional Pain to be performed in the ASC
· Communicate with patients regarding pre/post surgical instructions accurately to scheduled patients and obtains informed consent for all procedures as needed
· Coordinate and interface with appropriate staff, patients, providers, insurance carriers, billing company and ASC to ensure smooth flow of information and resources related to procedures
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in appropriate EHR and update corresponding Google drives and follow up on pending authorizations, records requests and medical clearance needs
· Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations, time of patients scheduled arrival, transportation needs and any other pertinent information needed
· Completes pre-procedure phone calls, confirms appointment times with patients and manage phone calls during work day as well as after hours at time regarding inquiries related to procedures
· Reviews discharge instructions with patients and ensures proper follow-up appointments are scheduled
Experience:
· Previous experience in a medical administrative role such as Interventional Pain Management, Orthopedic and/or Vascular or front desk setting is a plus
· Ability to provide outstanding customer service with strong communication skills (medical/insurance terminology), organization, problem solving, critical thinking, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
· Proficiency with EHR, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Google Drives, CRM, etc
