    Position Overview: The Procedure Room and C-Arm Technician plays a critical role in supporting the medical team during pain management procedures, at Apico Pain Management department. This position is responsible for the operation of imaging equipment, primarily the C-Arm fluoroscopy, ultrasound machine, assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the procedure room, and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for both patients and healthcare providers. The tech is also responsible for inventory for the procedure room and assisting manager with ordering.

    Key Responsibilities: • C-Arm Operation: ◦ Set up and operate the C-Arm fluoroscopic imaging system to assist physicians during interventional pain management procedures. ◦ Ensure proper imaging quality, adjust settings, and maintain safety protocols during imaging processes. ◦ Work closely with physicians and medical staff to capture necessary images and documentation during procedures.

    • Procedure Room Support: ◦ Prepare and maintain the procedure room for pain management treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and properly functioning. ◦ Assist with patient positioning, monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures, and support the physician as needed. ◦ Maintain an organized and clean environment in the procedure room, following infection control standards.

    • Patient Safety and Comfort: ◦ Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety standards and protocols, including proper shielding and exposure reduction techniques. ◦ Assist in patient preparation, ensuring they are informed and comfortable before, during, and after procedures. ◦ Monitor and assist in the handling of patient records and data, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.

    • Equipment Maintenance and Management: ◦ Regularly check and maintain the C-Arm, RFA machine and ultrasound machine, ensuring proper functioning and scheduling necessary repairs or maintenance. ◦ Collaborate with the clinical and technical teams to ensure all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, and ready for use.

    • Compliance and Documentation: ◦ Follow all federal, state, and institutional guidelines related to radiation safety and imaging practices. ◦ Maintain accurate documentation of imaging studies, patient interactions, and equipment usage in accordance with organizational protocols.

    Qualifications: • Education and Experience: ◦ High school diploma or equivalent required. ◦ At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical environment, specifically working with C-Arm fluoroscopy equipment, is preferred. ◦ Experience in pain management or similar specialty is a plus.

    • Licensure and Certifications: ◦ Current CPR/BLS certification required.

    • Skills and Abilities: ◦ Knowledge of C-Arm operation, fluoroscopy techniques, and radiation safety practices, preferred. ◦ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and communicate with a multidisciplinary team. ◦ Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues. ◦ Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care.

    Work Environment: • This position involves working in a clinical procedure room with exposure to radiation, requiring adherence to safety protocols. • The technician will be required to stand for long periods, assist in patient positioning, and perform physical tasks related to equipment handling.
