    Job Description

    Shift: Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm

    Pay Range: $33.65/Hr.- $45.67/Hr.

    The successful candidate for the Scientist I position will join Tech Transfer team with a multifaceted approach for providing high value services based on the DiscoverX PathHunter platform and other proprietary technologies.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for scale-up and process transfer of new bioassay cell lines and assay method from R&D to Operation within expected timelines and generate Tech Transfer reports
    • Working closely with R&D to ensure smooth, efficient, and successful execution of new bioassay cell lines production and testing process transfer to Operation
    • Lead new equipment installation and validation activities
    • Lead for vendor qualification
    • Develop and optimize applications of assay products and automation processes
    • Optimization of cell freezing process using Controlled Rate Freezer
    • Optimization of process improvement to increase efficiency, throughput, and implementing process changes
    • Prepare, revise and execute new standard operating procedures (SOPs) or reports for prospective new processes
    • Troubleshooting issues related to assay products and scale up performance
    • Lead regular Tech Transfer meeting with managers
    • Maintain laboratory equipment, laboratory samples, reagent inventories, and laboratory notebooks
    • Other duties as required and assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, biochemistry, or relevant life sciences.
    • Related industrial experience with 2+ years of cell culture/production or cell-based assay experience which includes expertise in handling adherent and suspension mammalian cell lines using aseptic technique.
    • Hands-on experience with thawing cells, passaging cells and cell cryopreservation is required.
    • Hands-on experience with microplate assay is required.
    • Must be able to utilize basic math and chemistry concepts for preparing solutions and cell suspensions.
    • A solid understanding of basic biochemistry and cell biology is required.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are required.
    • Must be able to work as a member of a team and independently
    • Must be comfortable and experienced working in a commercially focused lab environment.
    • Must be able to follow SOPs, make careful observations, and to keep clear and complete records of work.
    • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

    Ability and/or Skill:

    • Experience in mammalian cell culture, cryopreservation, and reagent preparation using aseptic technique is required
    • Experience in microplate assays is required

    Other Factors:

    • This position operates in a BSL-1/BSL-2 laboratory setting. There is potential for exposure to human tissues and fluids.
