    Job Summary :

    The Processing Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing processing equipment to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. The Processing Maintenance Specialist will ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is performed on schedule and reducing potential short and long-term consequences, for efficient seafood processing.

    Job Description :

    Core areas of responsibility are:

    Learn and operate processing equipment as directed by Processing Maintenance Manager. Processes include Gutting machine (Baader 142), Fillet machine, conveyors, fish tipper, system operation (Optimar)

    Must maintain safe and orderly workspace and follow all personal protective equipment requirements and Food safety Protocol.

    Assign line worker’s daily tasks and communicate accordingly.

    Must communicate effectively with fellow operators, Operation supervisors, Processing Maintenance Manager, QA Technician/Manager regarding start up, shut down, product and process changes, and clean-ups.

    Must follow and support all safety guidelines/procedures.

    Must be able to function and work in a team environment.

    Perform any other duties assigned by manager.

    Ensures that material handling equipment is maintained (daily inspection) and clean; reports repair or service needs to Processing Maintenance Manager to reduce equipment damage.

    Troubleshoot problems as they arise and make appropriate adjustments to correct the problem.

    Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics on plant processing/packaging equipment

    Complies with company safety, quality, standard operating procedures (SOP) and HACCP guidelines

    Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.

    Assembly of fillet machine.

    Able to travel for training.

    Prepare maintenance system in the business and deviation system to record deviations and technical failure.

    Incorporate routines and systems for preventive and comprehensive maintenance

    Obtain an overview of the state of technical equipment for a total evaluation of the backlog of maintenance.

    Make plans to improve your condition and reduce the number of stops and disruptions associated with the failure and halt of critical components / processes.

    Organization and operation of spare parts storage which includes obtaining an overview of which parts / components we must have in our own warehouse and which we can obtain from external suppliers. This requires mapping and risk assessment to determine what must be available on business and what we can accept longer delivery times

    Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and Company HSE Standards, along with site security program.

    Key success factors:

    Good maintenance standard and continuous improvement in all systems and processes.

    No severe accidents on site- and good reporting of incidents to implement preventive and corrective actions to improve safety of the team.

    Skills, competences, and knowledge to perform the work

    Must have 3-5+ years of Seafood or similar processing experience

    Mechanically inclined

    Electrical trouble shooting experience

    Hourly Yield Testing (Fillet Operation)

    · English Inclined / Bilingual Preferred

    · Willingness to collaborate with team members

    Ability to work in complex multi-tasking environments

    Constant desire to learn and grow.

    Work Environment This job operates in a combined office and farm/production and construction environment. Cold Environment.

    Schedule

    This job is salary and schedules typically consists of standard business hours. The facility is 24hrs and may require fast response all hands-on deck calls should there be issues with the equipment that is impacting the fish.
