Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator (Machinery Indirect)
Department: Purchasing Team

** Direct Report:** Machinery Purchasing Unit Manager

About the Purchasing Coordinator position
We are looking for a competent Purchasing Coordinator to perform supportive duties in Machinery/Indirect purchasing (MRO, spare parts, and general supplies, etc.) and Warehousing (monthly auditing processes) for the Purchasing Team.
Purchasing Coordinator responsibilities are:
- Research, select, and purchase Machinery and Indirect (MRO + subsidiary) materials as assigned
- Check the quality and quantity of Machinery and Indirect (MRO + subsidiary) materials delivered; confirm the price for invoice matching
- Request for quotations to suppliers; compare prices for Machinery and Indirect (MRO + subsidiary) materials
- Place orders for Machinery and Indirect (MRO + subsidiary) materials referring to existing contracts and given quotations
- Manage stock levels for optimum efficiency and continuous improvement
- GR/IR clearing of all open material PO's
- Communicate with US Customs & contracted delivery units to complete customs clearance processes in accordance with the legal instructions and internal regulations
- Check the documents related to Machinery and Indirect (MRO + subsidiary) material purchasing; ensure accurate bookkeeping in the system in a timely manner
- Create a monthly cash flow report for the Purchasing team
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Purchasing Coordinator requirements are:
Education:
- (Required) bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- (Preferred) purchasing management major or advanced degree in a related field
Experience:
- (Preferred) previous relevant experience
- (Preferred) previous experience in the manufacturing industry
Language:
- (Required) good command of written and spoken English
Skills & Knowledge:
- Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Economics and Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Transportation - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
- Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
