    Position Summary

    The Remote Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the acquisition of goods and services essential to MedStar Health's operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality goods and services.

    • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements that align with company objectives.

    • Purchase Order Management: Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

    • Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages.

    • Budget Adherence: Monitor procurement expenditures to ensure alignment with departmental budgets and cost-saving targets.

    • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

    • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, potential suppliers, and opportunities for cost reduction.

    • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within the healthcare or corporate environment.

    • Skills:

      • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

      • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

      • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

      • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

      • Knowledge of procurement laws and regulations.

    • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are a plus.
