    An innovative leader in the fresh food industry has a great opportunity for an Account Manager to continue their growth and expansion. This company has a very strong and recognizable brand, and a deep commitment to the fresh food industries.

    Do you like to sell, close business and get orders, enjoy working with customers and finding new ones, have a proficiency handling a large number of different items?  Are you enthusiastic about selling products, especially healthy fresh food, to grocery store chains of all sizes around the country? Do you like a challenge?

    No day is the same in the fresh produce business, however this position will build relationships with existing accounts and achieving annual sales goals by increasing the volume of their purchases as well as the number of items they buy.

    This role will also be responsible for developing new business alongside the Director of Sales. A sales assistant would be assigned with certain data entry duties; however, this position must be willing to roll up your sleeves and learn by doing. This is a fast-paced environment where time management and collaboration is key.     Position is based in the Long Beach, CA area. A hybrid remote / in-office arrangement a possibility.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Is responsible for meeting/exceeding established inside sales and margin goals for designated territory.
    • Responsible for sales growth through customer retention as well as prospecting and closing new business.
    • Collaborates with the CEO/Sales Manager, Business Development Representative and other team members to create and execute formalized business plans.
    • Interacts and collaborates with Sales Support and Director of Sales to create, manage and execute formalized business plans.
    • Interacts and collaborates with other departments with regards to sourcing, logistics, packaging and other related items in order to service clients.
    • Drives the execution of client's specialty produce category management program, in certain clients or in specific channels. Leads strategic growth initiatives in those channels.
    • Develops and maintains positive long term client relationships by up-selling and cross-selling.
    • Creates and updates daily and weekly call summary and calls accounts and prospects on a regular basis to obtain orders and develop commitments from customers. Uses the company’s CRM program (Maximizer) proactively to keep all parties updated.
    • Handles arrival issues and works to replace troubled product, getting the best return for the Company; issues the debits and contacts truck to re-deliver product to the handler, advising AP all of the charges.
    • Ensures satisfactory completion of orders and prompt follow-up regarding complaints or problems.
    • Manages and resolves all conflicts with clients.
    • Will occasionally travel outside the office to conduct sales calls and/or represent the Company at industry trade shows/events.
    • Follows company ethics guidelines and PACA, regarding business practices. Completes and understands the online PACA training class bi-annually.
    • Goes above and beyond with any other duties assigned and/or required.
