    A strong, reputable agriculture company seeks a bilingual Human Resources Manager to bolster its HR team and ensure the growth and continuous improvement of their HR functions. The role reports to the Director of Human Resources, and will work with an array of team members from the field to company headquarters.

    OVERVIEW

    The HR team at the Company are proud of the contribution they make to the employees’ experience. Under the direction of the Director, People Operations, the energetic and motivated bilingual Human Resources / People Operations Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing policies, programs and practices. This role will provide site-level leadership to a team of HR professionals and support to multiple locations. Role will be responsible for keeping the leadership team well-informed on all HR issues with broad and current subject matter knowledge that includes expertise in local, state and federal regulations. This role will provide hands-on support to drive operational improvement and optimal business results.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manage HR related activities, including, compensation, training, recruitment, workers’ compensation claims and system(s) integrity.
    • Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, evaluating employee relations, human resources policies, programs, and practices.
    • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring, implementing local, federal, and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
    • Ensures all work-related injury documentation is completed, reviewed and submitted to workers’ compensation carrier, tracks injuries, oversees light duty program, OSHA 300 log and postings are up to date.
    • Participates in planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
    • Act as employee advocate to ensure adequate representation and timely resolution of employee issues.
    • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
    • Analyze and compile reporting related to all aspects of employment, to include federal required EEO, and agency requests.
    • Responsible for all year-end reconciliations and reporting for ACA.
    • Manage all aspects of the recruitment process, to include seasonal staffing, and sourcing temp agencies to support staffing needs.
    • Prepares for all annual audits: 401k, worker’s compensation, financial audits including impromptu audits.
    • Maintains the organization and workforce structure by updating job descriptions for exempt positions.
    • Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
    • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with third party vendors.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Administer the company’s Temporary Agricultural Workers program (H2A).
    • Ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Labor, Federal and State rules, regulations and procedures as related to employment, safety and immigration/work visa requirements.
    • Manage vendor recruiting strategies for the program.
    • Conduct H2A employee orientation and training as needed.
    • Handle all H2A employee matters related to wages, workers compensation insurance, etc.
    • Maintain meticulous records for potential audits and inspections.
    • Ensure overall, up-to-date knowledge of industry changes, specifically related to the H2A program and ongoing requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
    • Seven (+/-) years of progressive experience in human resources, preferably in an agricultural environment and managing a team of HR professionals.
    • 3 to 4 years prior work experience managing and administering an H2A, or similar, visa program would be highly valuable.
    • Multi-state wage and hour law knowledge including local, federal and state employment regulations (AZ, OR, NY, CA).

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
    • Must be able to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with all levels of the workforce and across the organization.
    • Full-Cycle Payroll Experience preferred.
    • Employee Benefits Experience preferred.
    • Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to listen, analyze and inform appropriately while maintaining the required sensibilities in handling confidential information.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (i.e. ADP, Kronos, etc.)
    • Strong leadership, team building, and business relationship skills required.
    • Proven ability to manage projects and adjust to changing priorities.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    • Travel to other Company offices, meetings and events (30% travel requirement)
