    Job Description

    The News Desk Producer will cover day-of national and foreign news for NBC News Channel. NBC News Channel provides news content and editorial support to all NBC affiliate stations, NBC News, MSNBC, NBC Nightly News, Today Show, all NBC News digital platforms, CNBC.

    • Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

    This is a full-time remote position with a preference for the Charlotte, NC area.

    Responsibilities:

    • Write, edit, and manage news-of-the-day and breaking news content
    • Assign stories to writers, advertise stories and review for editorial accuracy
    • Collaborate with assignment desk and regional producers
    • Respond quickly to breaking news
    • Provide quality customer services to NBC News Group, affiliates and clients
    • Willing to work weekends, nights, holidays, and various schedules
    • Available to be on-call for breaking news
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • At least 3 years of experience as a local or network news producer/writer
    • Strong editorial judgment, news writing, and communication skills
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and maintain strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

    • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
