  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Entertainment Daily Show Producer will field, produce, and present packages for assigned segments on their assigned show. This can include producing packages and segments on news/entertainment, coordinating graphics, library, and video. In addition, they are responsible for researching segments, booking guests, and writing scripts. They will also work within a show unit to pitch ideas and produce portions of the show.

    Job Duties:

    • Responsible for working independently with guidance from the Line producer, General Producer and/or Executive Producer
    • Writes compelling copy and teases
    • Secures elements such as sound bites and video to support segments
    • Creates stock charts and lower thirds, uses Chyron Luci, and coordinates graphic orders
    • Partners with other departments as needed (such as Graphics, Tech Ops, and Satellite Operations) to place and follow-up on requests
    • Develops and maintains good relationships with financial and business news sources
    • Generates guest ideas daily, tapping into a broad array of sources
    • Assists Line Producer with production of the show during and after tapings
    • Reports (research, write, produce, present) fair and accurate stories as assigned daily
    • Develops and produces live guest segments
    • Finds and books compelling guests for the show, following booking protocols
    • Conducts pre-interviews of guests and based on their responses, script questions for use by anchors and reporters
    • Manages and arranges any necessary travel logistics for guests
    • Gathers and verifies news and features information for presentation on air, online and mobile
    • Actively participates in daily meetings with story pitches of interest to our viewers
    • Develops and maintains contacts with community, popular entertainers, musicians, and key figures
    • Develops enterprise and exclusive content
    • Collaborates with producers, managers, and photographers to conceptualize, write and produce stories
    • Stays informed regarding current events on a national, international, and regional level
    • Completes and submits all release forms as and permits as needed
    • Works under the direct supervision of the General Producer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in Television Production or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Strong copywriting and editorial skills
    • Must be fluent in Spanish and English (written and oral)
    • Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
    • Minimum 1 year of working experience with iNews
    • Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
    • Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
    • Must be willing to travel, as needed and on weekends, with short notice.

    Additional Requirements:

    • This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
