    Job Description

    Noticias Telemundo is looking for a driven, experienced Producer to join our team in New York City. The role requires a seasoned newsroom professional with a sharp editorial eye, deep understanding of local and national government, and the ability to guide teams in a fast-paced, breaking news environment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader, who is resourceful, has a solid contact list in different areas and has vast knowledge in daily news production. The Producer works closely with reporters, producers, cameramen and newsroom leadership to deliver high-impact, visually compelling news content across platforms. This role demands strong editorial judgment, a keen ability to identify and pitch relevant and newsworthy stories, and a commitment to producing accurate, balanced journalism.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage daily editorial operations, assignments, and story production for the NYC bureau.
    • Identify and pitch timely, relevant, and impactful local and national news stories.
    • Oversee the full production cycle of news packages—from research and scripting to final delivery—closely collaborating with reporters.
    • Secure exclusive access and book high-profile or news-relevant interviews.
    • Monitor breaking news and respond swiftly to developing stories with appropriate editorial decisions.
    • Stay current and proficient across all major social media platforms to enhance content reach and engagement.
    • Established relationships with local government officials, community leaders, and newsmakers.
    • Translate soundbites, statements, and written materials from English to Spanish.
    • Select and utilize the most effective video elements and soundbites to elevate storytelling.
    • Ensure all content meets the network’s editorial standards, legal guidelines, and journalistic ethics.
    • Maintain strong, proactive communication with the assignment desk and producers at Telemundo Center in Miami.
    • Collaborate with newsroom leadership, production teams, and other bureaus to ensure alignment and coordination across platforms.
    • Perform additional duties assigned, including support for special coverage and breaking news.
    • Work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment, with the ability to multitask across assignments.
    • Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including availability for weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays as needed.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Strong editorial and writing skills
    • Proven experience producing broadcast news content in a fast-paced newsroom.
    • Strong editorial judgment
    • Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, with professional proficiency in both languages.
    • Proficiency in digital tools, news monitoring platforms, and social media strategies.
    • Technologically savvy, with the ability to leverage newsroom systems and visual storytelling tools.
    • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum 5 years of news writing experience
    • Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
    • Minimum 1 year of working experience with iNews
