Job Description
Engineer III is a team leader who is responsible for leading and overseeing product
development projects from start to finish, including directing the activities of other team members.
Engineers at this level work under general direction from senior staff, and their work is typically
reviewed upon completion, or at major project milestones (design reviews).
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design & release innovative medical devices that are safe and effective.
• Project management, including directing the activities of other team members.
• Subject matter expert in one or more areas; able to solve complex / challenging engineering
problems within their area of expertise, and generally able to tackle moderately complex
engineering problems.
• Participate in and lead risk management activities, with the assistance & participation of senior
level subject matter experts.
• Create regulatory compliant design history files, including personal generation of DHF
documents, as well as oversight & review of the documentation generated by other team
members.
• Clearly and effectively present the work output of the project team at cross functional design
reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), MS office.
• Proficient in design of injection molded plastic parts / assemblies.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in the medical device industry.
• Ability to lead a team.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with other departments.
Physical / Mental Demands:
• Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
• Work may require weekend and evening work.
• Work may require travel.
• Physical activity includes sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching above
shoulders and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Work under stress in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be alert, able to concentrate, and use good judgment.
