    About the Role:

    Join our team as an Product Development Engineer and help deliver custom automated inspection and production systems for advanced manufacturing clients. In this hands-on role, you’ll take projects from the initial customer idea through final deployment, working on everything from electromechanical integration to system troubleshooting.

     

    What You’ll Do:

    • Act as the main technical point of contact for customer projects—translating client needs into actionable engineering requirements

    • Design, specify, and implement automated systems involving motion control, sensors, optics, actuators, and industrial controls

    • Select hardware and develop control strategies using PLCs and other industrial controllers

    • Lead the procurement process for custom components and work closely with vendors to source parts

    • Build, test, and debug prototype assemblies, both electrical and mechanical, in our facility

    • Oversee factory integration and support installation at customer sites, including hands-on troubleshooting

    • Work cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and specialist teams to deliver robust automation solutions

    • Document system architecture, wiring diagrams, and procedures for production and support teams

    • Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards

     

     

    What You Bring:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field

    • At least 5 years of experience in industrial automation, systems integration, or custom equipment design

    • Direct experience with PLC programming, motion systems, and the integration of sensors and actuators

    • Strong background in electrical and/or mechanical system design and hands-on assembly

    • Ability to manage projects end-to-end—from scoping and design through build, test, and deployment

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, custom project environment

    • Experience working directly with clients, with strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is a plus

     

     

    Bonus Points For:

    • Experience integrating optical/vision systems or machine learning into industrial solutions

    • Familiarity with safety and compliance standards relevant to factory automation
